EVANSVILLE, Ind. – One week after setting her career mark with 14 kills, sophomore Savannah Gogel matched that tally on Saturday as the University of Evansville volleyball team fell to Bradley by a final of 3-1 at Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
 
Gogel had another strong match hitting .455 while racking up four blocks. Lyla Fisher posted 13 kills while Ryan Scheu had 12 kills and three blocks. Carsyn Kelley led the team with 43 assists, two aces, and 10 digs. Gracie Furlong paced the Braves with 15 kills.
 
Set 1 – UE 25, Bradley 20
Both squads held the lead in the early moments with Bradley going up 7-5 before a run by the Aces in the middle of the set put them in front. With the score tied at 11-11, UE scored three in a row with Savannah Gogel picking up a kill and block. Gogel added another kill as UE pushed the lead to 19-14. The Braves rallied with three in a row to get within two, but Carsyn Kelley helped the Aces get back on track as her ace played a pivotal role in her team taking the set.
 
Set 2 – Bradley 25, UE 15
Looking to avenge their loss in the first set, the Braves scored the first four points of the second frame. Ryan Scheu got UE on the board with three early kills before Bradley extended its lead to 11-7. McKenzie Laubach's kill made it an 11-9 game until the Braves rebounded to take a 14-9 advantage. From there, they would cruise to a 25-15 win to tie the match at 1-1.
 
Set 3 – Bradley 25, UE 20
Wren Jones had a kill to cut the Bradley lead to 3-2. After they went up 7-3, UE came back with three in a row to make it a 7-6 game with Kelley and Gogel combining on a block to cap the stretch. Despite the run by UE, the Braves countered to take a 13-7 edge. With Bradley up 16-10, Evansville reeled off four in a row thanks to a pair of Jones kills.
 
The Braves came right back with five in a row to go up 21-14 before finishing off the set with a 25-20 decision to take their first lead of the match.
 
Set 4 – Bradley 25, UE 20
Savannah Gogel picked up three kills to tie the score at 4-4. Bradley posted the next two as they jumped back in front. They continued to roll to a 12-6 lead before going up 18-9. Evansville fought back with five in a row as Kendall Agler picked up an ace. Despite the rally, the Braves were able to fend off the challenge to clinch the match.
