Biography

2008:  Named UE’s “Most Valuable Runner” for the second-straight year...led the team in seven of the eight meets in which he competed...posted the 14th-fastest 8K time on record with a career-best mark of 25:14.31 at the UE Invitational...posted back-to-back second-place individual finishes at the Earl Jacoby Memorial (26:28.50-8K) and Tennessee Tech Invite (26:52.00-8K)...compiled six Top 25 individual finishes on the season, including placing 24th at the State Farm MVC Championships (26:14.00-8K).

2007:  Earned UE’s “Most Valuable Runner” award after leading UE in all eight meets...posted seven Top 25 individual finishes, including overall individual championships at the Earl Jacoby Memorial (26:45.10-8K) and the Tennessee Tech Invite (27:16.00-8K)...posted the 17th-fastest 8K time (25:18.60-UE Invitational) and the fifth-fastest 10K time (32:55.70-NCAA Great Lakes Regional) on record at UE...placed 20th at the State Farm MVC Championships (25:25.00-8K)...a member of the MVC’s Academic Honor Roll and the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team.

2006:  Winner of UE’s Outstanding Freshman Award...consistently ran in UE’s top five...ran third on the team at both the State Farm MVC (26:52-8K) and NCAA Great Lakes Regional (34:10-10K) Championships...posted three Top 20 individual finishes, including a sixth place finish at the Mid-America Opener...posted a season-best 8K time of 26:07.10 at the UE Invite, placing 13th overall...one of only two rookies to run in all eight meets.

Background:  Lettered three years in cross country and track at Liberty High School, while also playing one year of hockey...earned second-team all-state honors as a senior after placing 20th in the state...placed 52nd in the state as a junior...helped Liberty finish second in Colorado’s Class 4A as both a junior and a senior...a first-team all-regional selection...competed in the 2005 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships Midwest Regional, placing 118th out of over 360 runners...a political science major at UE.

Why UE?:  UE has a great political science and business school, as well as an excellent international studies program.
