Biography
At UE – Andy Pascoe returns to help anchor the heart of the UE batting order this spring...A versatile player with a strong arm and a solid bat from the right side...Will likely start the season as UE’s designated hitter, but could also see time at first base and catcher.
2009 – Earned second team all-MVC honors at DH after leading UE in hitting with a .331 average...Knocked nine doubles, a home run, and 21 RBI...Hit a team-best .388 during the month of April with five doubles, a home run, and 11 RBI...Finished the year hitting a team-best .363 from 3/27-on...Ranked third on the team with 18 multi-hit games...Had three-straight multi-hit games on three different occasions, including a stretch where he also had three-straight multi-RBI games from 4/25 to 4/28...Equaled a career-high by going 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored at #10 Pepperdine (3/5)...Only UE player to hit above .300 vs. RHP, vs. LHP, with runners on base (.338), with the bases empty (.327), with RISP (.316), and with two outs (.371)...Also appeared in one game on the mound, pitching the eighth inning at Indiana State on 5/10.
2008 – Battled a pulled muscle in his back to start in 46 of UE’s 56 games at catcher (30 GS), third base (10 GS) and DH (5 GS)...Also made one start at first base...Ranked second on the team in hitting at .294...Led UE with 31 RBI, while also knocking three home runs and nine doubles...Posted a team-best eight multi-RBI games, and was second with 16 multi-hit games...Went a career-best 4-for-4 with four RBI at Tennessee-Martin (4/8)...Ranked second in the MVC in runners caught stealing during the regular-season with 18...Played for the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League during the summer.
2007 – Played in 26 games with 11 starts...Hit .258 with a triple and three RBI...Had the game-winning, pinch-hit RBI single in UE’s 5-4 win over Kentucky (5/9)...Played summer league baseball for the Brainerd Blue Thunder of the Northwoods League.
Background – A 2006 first-team all-state selection at Traverse City Central...hit .402 with a school-record 16 doubles and 41 RBI...Named conference MVP, as well as earning first-team all-conference, all-district, all-region, and all-state honors...Also played quarterback on the football team and earned two letters in basketball...Majoring in exercise science...Chose UE because of the “great campus, great coaching staff, and great program.”
