2006 – Has more collegiate game experience than anyone on the team...expected to play right outside back...capable of starting the attack from her defensive position...has played defender and midfielder at UE. 2005 – Second team all-Missouri Valley Conference…aggressive, veteran player at the core of UE's defense...helped team register five shutouts...one of only three players to start in all 19 matches...named to the Samford Bulldog Classic All-Tournament Team…honorable mention selection on MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. 2004 – Major part of Evansville’s offense and defense after missing all of 2003 because of a knee injury...central midfielder who finished second in scoring with three goals and three assists for nine points...strong, skilled player excellent at winning 50-50 balls and maintaining possession...took many of team's free kicks. 2003 –Missed all of the 2003 season afer suffering torn knee ligaments in late May. 2002 – Highly touted freshman who met all expectations... defender who was the only newcomer to start in all 20 matches...chosen for the 11-player Missouri Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team. High School/Club – Competed at the College Cup in Dallas ...two-time first team all-league selection and team Most Valuable Player...scored 18 goals in 2001, a league high for defenders...earned four letters in soccer and three in basketball. Personal – Sarah Joanne Groves...born August 18, 1984 in Bremerton, Washington...daughter of John and Patricia Weatherill...has two older twin sisters, Amber and Andrea ...majoring in secondary education. Why Evansville? “Because it had a good educational and athletic atmosphere. I was impressed with the size of the campus. It was small, pretty and had a homelike atmosphere.”
