2007 – Honorable Mention All-MVC defender...third consecutive year as a starting back; second year as a central defender...steady, skilled player who reads the game well...good 1-v-1 defender...helped UE shut out seven opponents, the most since 2000.

2006 – Moved from right outside back to central defender, and played the most minutes on the team...one of three UE players on the all-MVC Tournament Team...helped UE’s defense post four shutouts and hold the opposition to 28 goals, the fewest since 2001...excellent defender because of her pace and technical skills...became more of a team leader as the 2006 season progressed.

2005 – Started in 18 of the Aces' 19 matches as a right side defender…recorded her first career point with an assist in a 3-1 victory over Belmont in the season opener August 26…added an assist in each of the Aces' exhibition games…helped team register five shutouts with her steady play...good at winning 50/50 balls.

High School/Club – Helped lead Nerinx Hall to third place in 2005 state tournament...first team all-conference...Most Valuable Defensive Player and the team’s Sportsmanship Award winner...played on Nerinx Hall teams that reached 2002 state final four, and won 2004 district title...member of J.B. Marine Soccer Club since 1998...played on J.B. Marine’s Missouri state championship teams in 2001, 2003 and 2004, and was team captain of the 2002 squad...High School coach–Vince Becker...Club coach–Mike Twellman.

Personal – Kara Lynn Murphy...born February 16, 1987 in St. Louis, Mo...daughter of David and Stephanie Murphy...has one younger sister, Krista...excellent student who is a recipient of the 2007-08 MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award...majoring in health services administration.
