Biography

2009:  Competed in all eight meets as a redshirt junior...consistently ran in UE’s top eight...set a new personal-best 8K mark at the Great American Cross Country Festival with a time of 26:14.00...best individual finish was 22nd at the Mid-America Opener (20:22.63-6K)...posted three top 40 individual finishes on the season.

2008:  Ran in seven of UE’s eight meets as a redshirt sophomore...posted a season-best 8K time of 26:47.74 at the EIU Panther Open...helped UE win the team title at the Tennessee Tech Invite by placing third overall in a time of 26:59.00...also broke the 27-minute barrier in the 8K at the UE Invitational (26:53.12)...clocked in with a time of 35:48.50 in his first collegiate 10K at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals.

2007:  Limited to two meets before injuries cut short his second year at UE...earned a medical redshirt...ran second for UE and finished 11th overall at the Mid-America Opener (19:30.32-6K)...also competed in the Earl Jacoby Memorial (31:31.1-8K).

2006:  Competed in seven of UE’s eight meets as a rookie, including the 2006 State Farm MVC Cross Country Championships...consistently ran in UE’s top eight...placed seventh at the Mid-America Opener in a 6K time of 19:47...also posted Top 30 individual finishes at both the UAH/Fleet Feet Sports Cross Country Invite (28th-28:12 8K) and the UE Invite (29th-27:09 8K).

Background:
  A four-year star in both cross country and track at Mitchell High School...a four-time all-conference selection in both sports...ran second for the Bluejackets as a senior until suffering an injury at regionals; still competed in both the semi-state and state meets, helping Mitchell finish 19th in the state of Indiana...helped Mitchell to conference, sectional, and regional championships in 2005...earned all-sectional honors after placing fourth overall...won the 2004 sectional championship in the 800 meters in track...majoring in mechanical engineering at UE.

Why UE?:  The engineering facilities and the small school atmosphere.
