Biography

2011-12: Named to MVC All-Conference Team for No. 3 doubles along with partner Jessica Raatz...earned a berth on the 2012 MVC Scholar Athlete Team...began the school year with identical 3-6 singles and doubles marks in the fall..rebounded with a strong spring, leading UE in singles wins (15), total wins (33) while tying for the team high in doubles triumphs (18)...earned victories in the first five singles matches of the year, winning three of those in two sets...put together a six-match winning streak at the end of February beginning with Butler through a March 25 match against IPFW...went 15-6 in singles while going 18-4 in doubles with Raatz...opened spring with four doubles victories before rolling through MVC regular season play with an unblemished 7-0 mark.

2010-11: Finished third in Flight 3 singles, and went 2-1 in Flight 3 doubles with partner Kelsey Costales at the Memphis Fall Tournament...went 1-1 in both Flight 3 singles and Flight 3 doubles at the IPFW Invitational...won Flight 3 doubles with partner Carolyn Caire and finished fifth in Flight 3 singles at the MVC Individual Championships... finished with a 5-3 singles and 5-2 doubles record for the fall...compiled a 12-5 singles record in the spring, including 3-3 at #2 and 9-2 at #3...singles record was second best on the team behind Kate Chybowski's 17-3...won the deciding match that gave UE 4-3 win over Illinois State and gave Aces third place in final standings, UE's highest finish ever in MVC...compiled a 9-8 doubles record in the spring, including 9-6 at #2 with Pin Sorensen.

2009-10: Compiled the fourth best overall singles record in the Missouri Valley Conference at 15-4 (.789)...4-1 at number four singles, 11-3 at number five...teamed with Carolyn Caire to win 11 of 14 matches at number three doubles in the spring...won Flight 3 singles at the Aces Fall Classic with a three-set win over teammate Ashton Schwerin...went 2-1 at the MVC Individual Championships at Flight 4 singles...posted a 6-3 singles record and 6-5 doubles record for the fall.

Background: Transferred to UE after spending one season at Indiana State University, where she appeared in 12 matches for the Sycamores...at ISU, was given the nickname 'Weight Room Warrior'...three-time national champion for Serbia and played for the national team for two years...from ages 10-16 she was ranked either first or second in her country.

Personal: Aleksandra Dzakula...daughter of Dusan and Jelena Dzakula...has one younger brother, Uros...majoring in Elementary Education.
