Biography

2012-13: Averaged 3.5 points while playing in 35 game and making seven starts as a sophomore with the Aces…shot 51% from the floor while making his first 3-pointer in college…began the year with what would be his top game at Notre Dame, posting a season-high 11 rebounds and 10 points on 5-10 shooting in 27 minutes of action…had three double-digit games in a row, tallying 11 vs. Alabama State, 16 against Oakland City (along with 7 rebounds) and 10 at Butler…shot 7-8 vs. the Mighty Oaks while hitting five out of seven attempts in 27 minutes against the Bulldogs…posted 12 points in finale win over the Sycamores, hitting five shots while grabbing six rebounds…tallied 10 rebounds in CIT win over Eastern Kentucky.

2011-12: Named to the 2012 MVC All-Freshman Team…averaged 6.2 PPG playing in 29 contests while starting 22…hit 62.6% of his shots, would have been 2nd in the MVC with enough attempts…missed three of first four games of the season due to a bout with mono…made first career start against Tennessee Tech, tallying six points…recorded first double-digit effort at Miami (OH) hitting 5-7 shots to tally 11 points…chipped in a season-high 14 points in home game vs. Drake, hit 7-of-9 shots against the Bulldogs…hit double figures in seven out of 11 games in January and February…finished with his first double-double at Bradley, hauling in a career-best 16 boards while scoring 12 points…in regular season finale vs. Missouri State, played season-high 35 minutes, scoring 11 points.

At Mundelein: Third team selection on the IBCA all-state team as a senior...Pioneer Press Lake Shore Player of the Year as a senior, when he averaged 20 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.8 steals per game for the 29-5 Mundelein Mustangs...averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior, and signed with the Aces in November of his senior year...played for the Rising Stars AAU program. 

Coach Simmons On Sawvell:  “Ryan really gets up and down the court well for his size.  He jumps well, moves well; he has a lot of bounce, and he can help on the perimeter as well as inside.”
