2010: Started in all 30 matches…ended the season ranked sixth in the MVC with 9.81 assists per set (991 total)… finished eighth in UE record books for single-season assists… ranks third in UE history with 2,858 career assists in three years…ranked as high as 44th in the NCAA for assists per game with 10.60 during the week of September 26… recorded a season-high 58 assists against Southern Illinois (10/22)…posted two solo blocks against Wichita State (11/21) and Northern Iowa (10/31)…tied her career-best three service aces at Bradley (10/2)…named to the all-tournament team at the UE Dunn Hospitality Tournament after collecting 93 assists, eight kills and 18 digs on the weekend… recipient of MVC State Farm Good Neighbor Award (11/8).

2009: Started and played in all 30 games…ranks third in UE single-season assists records with 1,242 and ninth in career list with 1,864 assists…ranked as high as 16th in NCAA assists per game with 11.33 during the week of September 20…ranked third in the league with 10.44 assists per game…recorded 11 double-doubles…named UE Student-Athlete of the Week (8/31)…received Memphis Invitational All-Tournament honors after recording 145 assists, 33 digs, five block assists and four service aces in the weekend (8/28-8/29)…posted a career-high 68 assists versus Youngstown State (9/5), which is the highest in a match in the MVC during 2009…tallied a career-high eight blocks at Missouri State (10/10).

2008: Played in 26 matches and 82 games as a freshman…first UE player since 2003 to be named to the MVC All-Freshmen team…led the team and finished in the top-10 in the conference averaging 7.59 assists per set including 9.90 a/s in conference play…named the MVC Freshman of the Week and Player of the Week (11/3)…posted 10 matches with 30 or more assists…had a career-best 54 assists against Northern Iowa (11/1)…tallied four kills and 31 assists in the MVC Tournament against Northern Iowa.

At Lincoln-Way Central: Four-year letterwinner at Lincoln-Way Central...named all-conference two years...led the Knights in kills and assists as a junior and senior...team MVP in 2007...led the Knights to a conference championship as a senior.

Personal: Ellen Sawin...born December 31, 1989...daughter of Ronald and Betsy Sawin....older sister, Emily, played volleyball at College of Charleston while mom played volleyball at Illinois State from 1974-77...majoring in graphic design.

Why UE? “I chose UE because of the volleyball program. I was looking at playing there and all the coaches and players made me feel extremely welcome and like I belonged there. Also, the school is close to home and in a strong conference."
