Biography

2012-13: Notched only the second triple-double in program history at Creighton, tallying 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, it was also the 36th triple-double in MVC history…named to the MVC All-Defensive Team for the second season in a row…posted 142 career steals, third in program history…tallied 416 assists, which was fifth in the UE record book…notched 6.1 points per game and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per contest…led UE with 140 assists…hit double figures in scoring on ten occasions (did so 8 times in his first three seasons)…led UE in rebounding in 11 out of 18 MVC games, was the MVC’s no. 4 rebounds in conference games…first double-digit outing was an 11-point, 9-rebound effort vs. Miami (OH)…followed that up with 11 points and 12 rebounds against Murray State…hauled in 10 rebounds while notching 10 points and 10 assists to post second triple-double in UE history…in game after, set career mark with 19 rebounds in win over Missouri State…that effort came in the middle of a stretch that saw him post at least 5 rebounds in 20-consecutive contests…had 12 rebounds and 9 points at UNI before finishing with another double-double in home win vs. Drake (11 points, 10 rebounds)…led UE with 10 rebounds along with 9 points in MVC Tournament game vs. Indiana State…set career-high with 16 points against Eastern Kentucky in CIT game; hit all 7 shots while hauling in 7 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists…had a strong all-around game at Canisius with 10 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

2011-12:  Taylor’s career year helped earn him a spot on the MVC All-Defensive Team in 2012…led UE with 4.9 rebounds per game as a point guard, while also leading the team in assists with 112…was third on the squad with 46 steals…recorded first double-double of his career with 1 points and 11 boards while playing 30 minutes against Oakland City, hit 4-5 shots…excellent effort against Indiana State helped him come close to a triple-double, scored 12 points to go along with ten rebounds and seven assists…made another stab at a triple-double in home contest against the Sycamores, notched ten rebounds, nine points and eight assists…set career-highs in points and boards with 14 of each in victory at Missouri State…tallied 12 points in regular season finale against the Bears before hauling in 13 boards in the MVC Tournament game against MSU….completed his junior campaign with 13 points in CBI outing versus Princeton.

2010-11: Gave the Aces a spark off the bench, especially in second half of season...fourth on team and #15 in MVC in assists with 2.3 per game despite averaging only 14 minutes of playing time per game...#10 on the team in scoring at 2.8 ppg...UE’s assist leader in 3 of the final 6 games...totaled 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists in MVC Tournament loss to Indiana State....had a season-high 8 assists and 7 rebounds Feb. 23 at Drake... led UE with 6 assists and 3 steals Feb. 19 at Murray State... tied his career high with 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting Feb. 2 vs. Missouri State; also made his second career 3-pointer vs. Missouri State Feb. 2 to put UE ahead for good...grabbed a season-high 6 rebounds and made 2 steals and 2 assists Jan. 12 against Drake...totaled 7 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 steals at Missouri State Jan. 7... helped start UE’s comeback with 4 points and a steal in Jan. 1 win over Indiana State...led team with 5 assists in 17 minutes Dec. 11 against Md. Eastern Shore... totaled 3 points, 1 assist vs. North Carolina... scored 2 points, made 2 assists in 9 minutes at Butler Nov. 27...made 3 assists, 2 steals in 16 minutes Nov. 21 at Indiana...made 4 assists in win over UTSA Nov. 17...had 4 points, 4 assists off the bench in season opener Nov. 13 vs. Oakland City.

2009-10: Ranked #6 in MVC in assists (3.1) and #7 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5)...best penetrator on the team...fifth on the team in minutes played...led the Aces in assists, and finished fourth in rebounding (3.6) and seventh in scoring (3.9)...came close to a triple-double with 7 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds Dec. 19 against Tennessee-Martin...worked hard to improve at the free throw line, and hit 19 of his final 22 attempts (.864) after starting out the season 28-for-54 (.519)...scored a career-high 12 points on 4-for-6 shooting at Missouri State Jan. 27...grabbed 10 or more rebounds three times...only player on the team to reach double figures during the season in scoring, rebounding and assists.

At Anderson: First player to sign with the University of Evansville during the spring signing period in 2009...10th leading scorer in Anderson High School’s rich basketball history with 1,128 points... Anderson Herald Bulletin Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009... honorable mention on the 2009 Associated Press All-State Team... averaged 21.1 points and 9.8 rebounds as a senior... three-year starter for Coach Ron Hecklinski’s team, and produced 14 double-doubles as a senior...also led the Indians to a sectional championship in 2009, their first in six years.
