Biography

2014:  All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team selection…tarted all 55 games, with a majority of his starts coming at third base…Hit .295 with 12 doubles, a home run and 35 RBI…Scored a team-high 44 runs and posted a .399 on-base percentage, after drawing 28 walks and being hit by 11 pitches…Hit .317 in conference play and ranked second on the team with 19 RBI in league contests…Hit an impressive .463 (19-for-41) with two outs and drove in 22 of his 35 RBI with two outs…Recorded multiple hits in 19 games and drove in multiple runs 11 times…Earned MVC Player of the Week honors (4/14), after hitting an even .400 with three doubles, five runs scored and eight RBI in four games against Oakland City and Wichita State…Tallied a season-high three hits on six occasions, including in three-straight games vs. Eastern Kentucky (3/28 – 3/30)…Drove in a season-high four runs vs. Illinois State (5/10) by going 2-for-3 with a bases-clearing double…Scored a season-high three runs in seven different games…Posted a .940 fielding percentage, committing 12 errors in 200 chances.

2013: Appeared in 34 games, making 31 starts…Did not see action for 4/6 to 5/3, a span of 15 games, after suffering a broken hamate bone in his left hand…Hit .322 on the season with five doubles, two triples, a home run and 14 RBI…Posted a .421 slugging percentage and reached base at a .418 clip, drawing 14 walks and getting hit eight times…Stole a base in two attempts…Recorded multiple hits 11 times and multiple RBI twice…Got a hit in seven-straight games and reached base safely in 11 straight…Drove in a season-high four runs by going 3-for-5 with a triple and a run scored vs. Oakland City (3/13)…Posted a 4-for-6 performance and drove in three runs with a double in game two of a doubleheader vs. Purdue (3/16)…Tallied three hits in each of the first time games of the series at Bradley, going 3-for-3 with an RBI Friday night (3/29) and 3-for-5 with a run scored Saturday (3/30)…Finished the season on a four-game hitting streak…Posted a .933 fielding percentage, making nine errors…Appeared out of the bullpen as a pitcher against Illinois State, notching a strikeout in his 0.2 inning of work (5/11).

2011: Appeared in 37 games with 34 starts as catcher, first base, and DH…Hit .188 with two doubles, 13 RBI, and 12 runs scored…Went 2-for-2 with two runs scored vs. Michigan State (3/20)…Recorded a pinch hit single at Illinois State (5/20)…Tallied four multi-hit games …Led the team with 12 hit by pitches.

Background: Four-year letterwinner in baseball and one of the top hitters in the Columbus, Ohio area earning three all-county honors and a pair of all-district selections for the Jonathan Alder Pioneers…A career .420 hitter at the high school level with over 70 career RBI, while helping the Pioneers to a 51-21 record…Served as captain of his team that was district runner-ups…Father, Jerry, played four years at Ohio State.
