At UE - Tristan Facer is expected to contend for time both in the UE lineup and on the mound this year...Will vie for a spot in the UE rotation this spring...In the field is an above average defensive first baseman who has some pop in his bat...On the mound, is a hard-throwing left-hander with three strong pitches...Transfers to UE this spring from Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. At Parkland College - Earned third team NJCAA Division II All-America status for the Cobras after hitting .341 with a team-best nine home runs and 62 RBI as a sophomore...Also earned all-conference, all-district, all-region, and team MVP honors last year...Pitched in eight games, going 1-1 with a save and a 6.00 ERA...Named to the 2005 NJCAA Division II World Series All-Tournament team after hitting .429 and recording a save in helping Parkland to the championship game...Hit .284 with seven home runs and 33 RBI as a freshman, while also going 0-1 with two saves and a 2.45 ERA in seven relief appearances...A teammate of UE junior Jim Viscomi at Parkland in 2005...Played for the Twin City Stars of the Central Illinois Collegiate League this past summer.
