The mantra of the athletics department at the University of Evansville is "Academic Excellence, Championship Tradition, and Integrity." That belief is built on a strong tradition of success both on and off of the field of play in a variety of sports.
Student-athletes at the University of Evansville are truly that: students and athletes. The main goal of the athletics department at UE is to maximize the educational experience of every student-athlete enrolled at the University of Evansville to help produce the future leaders of tomorrow and prepare every student-athlete for life after college, be that in athletics or in the business world.
Traditionally, student-athletes at the University of Evansville maintain a high level of academic excellence in the classroom. Since 1972, Evansville has produced 57
Academic All-Americans, including producing 22 first team Academic All-America selections. Various UE teams have earned Academic All-America honors throughout the years, and as a group, Evansville's student-athletes combined to post a GPA of 3.284 en route to its first MVC All-Academic Award in 2012, which is given to the institution in the league with the top cumulative GPA among its student-athletes. The department duplicated the feat in 2013.
The
Beeler Family Athletics Academic Center opened in the fall of 2008 to aid UE student-athletes in their pursuit of academic excellence.
