Meet UE Nutritionist Dr. Susan Mitmesser
Nutrition Tip #1:  Proper Hydration and Athletic Performance
Nutrition Tip #2:  Muscle Cramps--Cause & Prevention
Nutrition Tip #3:  Eating Before Competition
Nutrition Tip #4:  Eating After Competition--Recovery

At the University of Evansville, the main goal of the athletics department is to develop the entire student-athlete, both on and off of the field of competition.  That includes providing invaluable nutritional advice and counseling so that each student-athlete has the proper knowledge and background to be able to compete at their highest level, while maintaining a long, healthy, and prosperous life in the game of life.

That important job belongs to UE nutritionist, Dr. Susan Hazels Mitmesser.  Mitmesser has a Ph.D. in nutritional biochemistry from the University of Nebraska, and received a master's degree and dietetic internship training at the University of Nebraska-Medical Center.  She has been widely published in many peer-reviewed journals, and has been a sports nutritionist for other NCAA Division I athletes in the SEC before coming to the University of Evansville.

At UE, Mitmesser works closely with each coaching staff and support staff member to ensure that each student-athlete has the proper nutritional instruction necessary to compete at the Division I level.  She also meets with individual student-athletes throughout the school year to answer their questions about nutrition and give them guidance on how to maintain good nutritional habits and how to achieve peak performance through enhancing strength and power, improving endurance, and recovering from workouts through proper nutrition.
