Griffin McCormick was elevated from Volunteer Assistant Coach to Assistant Coach in the summer of 2024 after spending a season with the Purple Aces.
McCormick joined UE from Southwest Minnesota State (SMSU) where he was a member of the Mustang's coaching staff for a season. While in Milroy McCormick helped the Mustang's offense with a focus on hitting after completing his playing career.
Prior to SMSU McCormick had a five year playing career, starting at Bellevue CC before finishing his playing career at Sacramento State University. He also served as a student assistant coach for the Hornets in the 2021 season. McCormick played in over 25 games over the course of 2019 season and the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He had a career .340 OBP and 41 career at bats.
