Keirce Kimbel enters his second season with Evansville after joining the Aces coaching staff for the 2020 season.
The Franklin, Tenn. native has a long history in baseball, most recently serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky in 2018 and 2019.
Kimbel entered coaching after a four-year playing career as a right-handed pitcher. He began at Columbia State Community College in 2013 and helped the team advance to the 2014 JUCO World Series.
After two years at Columbia State, Kimbel transferred to Austin Peay State University for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He graduated from Austin Peay in 2016 with a degree in Agriculture Business and began graduate school for Business Management while serving as a student assistant for the team. Last season, his primary function on the staff was as bullpen coach.
After graduation, Kimbel spent the 2017 summer as head coach for the Hoptown Hoppers of the Summer Collegiate Ohio Valley League, guiding the collegiate summer team to a 28-19 record and second-place finish in its league.
