• Served as the Aces’ primary Friday night starter for the second consecutive season
• Started 12 games with a 5.61 ERA in 67.1 innings
• Issued just eight walks on the season, the fewest among qualified pitchers in the Missouri Valley Conference
• Finished the year third in the country in fewest walks allowed per nine innings (1.07)
• Ranked ninth in the country in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.38)
• Struck out seven in seven innings of two-run ball against Little Rock on opening weekend (2/14)
• Got the win against Missouri, striking out five while allowing four earned runs in seven innings of work (2/28)
• Picked up another win against Valpo, limiting the Beacons to one run in 5.2 innings (3/28)
• Worked a season-high eight innings against UIC, striking out seven while allowing two earned runs (4/4)
• Tossed seven innings with seven strikeouts and no walks against Indiana State, limiting the Sycamores to two runs (4/17)
• Struck out a career-high 10 without issuing a walk in 6.2 innings at Missouri State (4/25)
• Got the win with seven innings of two-run baseball at Southern Illinois (5/9)
• Made four starts for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League over the summer, posting a 3.68 ERA

2024

• Named NABC Freshman All-American, ABCA/Rawlings All-Region, and MVC Freshman of the Year
• First UE freshman to earn All-Region honors
• Helped lead the Aces to an MVC Tournament and NCAA Regional title in his first collegiate season, tallying a 4.22 ERA.
• Led all NCAA freshman in innings pitched (111.0) and victories (nine), while accumulating 83 punch-outs in 16 starts.
• Earned national acclaim for his victory in the opening game of the NCAA Greenville Regional over host ECU, pitching eight innings, allowing just one run on three hits, while striking-out four batters in a 4-1 Evansville win.
• Recorded five outings with six-or-more strikeouts, including a season-best nine Ks against UIC on May 16th.
• Allowed three-or-less runs in 12 of his 18 appearances on the season, including a seven-inning shutout of Illinois State at The Braun on April 12th.

PREP

• A first-team all-state pitcher from Fort Zumwalt West High School in O’Fallon, Missouri outside of St. Louis
• Went 8-0 with a 0.89 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 86 strikeouts in 55.0 innings of work as a senior
• Was the Gateway Athletic Conference South Player of the Year, while also earning first-team all-district and all-metro honors
• From March 25 through April 26, had five-consecutive games of 10 or more strikeouts
• Also went 7-1 as a junior with a 1.59 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 52.2 innings of work
• Ranked as the tenth-best left-handed pitcher in the state of Missouri by Perfect Game

PERSONAL

• Son of Kristin and Brian Deverman
• Has two younger siblings – Brant and Katelyn
• Also played soccer and basketball growing up
• Lists basketball as his second-best sport
• Lists his favorite food as pizza
• Hobbies include playing video games, hanging out with friends and family, fishing and working out
• While he is left-handed, he plays ping-pong, tennis and bowling right-handed
• Wanted to wear the #6 originally, but with it being retired at UE for former coach Jim Brownlee, chose the #16 to wear
• Was given a baseball signed by Stan Musial before he was born, and has loved the game of baseball ever since he could walk – and that’s why his favorite number is the number 6
• Has a career goal of being a professional baseball player
