At Madison Area Tech – Coached by Mike Davenport at Madison Area Tech...Earned all-district and all-region honors in 2007 as a sophomore...Went 7-0 with a 2.78 ERA in 15 appearances and seven starts...Struck out 58 in 45.1 innings of work, while holding the opposition to a .218 batting average...Played summer baseball for the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League, going 0-2 with a save and a 3.03 ERA in 20 relief appearances...Pitched in 11 games as a freshman at MATC, going 2-3 with a 1.54 ERA in 35 innings of work...Selected in the 42nd round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft by the Florida Marlins.

Background – A three-time all-conference player and two-time MVP at Fennimore High School...Struck out 445 men in four years on the mound...Posted a 1.90 ERA as a junior and a 1.73 ERA as a senior...Also a career .360 hitter for the Golden Eagles...A two-time all-conference basketball player and a three-time all-conference football player as well...Plans on majoring in sociology at UE...Chose Evansville because it “is a great fit for me and a place that will get me to where I want to go in the future.”
