2010 – Pitched in eight games with five starts as a true freshman...Went 0-2 with a 5.68 ERA...Held opposing teams to a .273 batting average, while striking out 16 men in 19.0 innings of work...Earned tough-luck losses at nationally-ranked Louisville (3/3) and Kentucky (3/9) in which he allowed just two earned runs total in the two games in 5.1 innings of work...Tossed 2.1 shutout innings of one-hit baseball at Samford in relief (3/5)...Held Purdue to just two runs on two hits in 5.1 innings of work, while striking out a season-high eight men (3/14)...Limited the opposition to just a .176 average (3-for-17) with two outs in an inning.

Background – A three-sport standout at Bishop Dwenger High School...Lettered three years in baseball and two each in basketball and football for the Saints...Named to the Indiana North-South All-Star game as a senior...Was the winning pitcher of game two of the North-South All-Star series held at UE’s Braun Stadium...Earned first-team all-conference honors as a senior after going 7-3 with a 1.89 ERA...Struck out 70 men against just 15 walks in 59 innings of work...Tossed a no-hitter as a senior against Northrop High School...Went 6-4 with a 4.12 ERA as a junior, striking out 47 men in 54.1 innings of work...From the same high school which produced former MVC Newcomer of the Year Ben Norton for UE...Undecided on an academic major...Chose UE for the excellent baseball program and academic opportunities.
