At UE – T.J. Dailey will contend for time at catcher once again this spring…Possesses a plus arm behind home plate…Offensively, provides a solid bat from either side of the plate.
2008 – Appeared in 18 games, with nine starts at catcher...Hit .188 (6-for-32) with two doubles and six runs scored...Finished the year strong, hitting a team-best .417 (5-for-12) in UE’s last 10 games...Went 2-for-4 against both Chicago State (5/4) and Southern Illinois (5/16)...Also had a double, two runs scored, and two RBI vs. Chicago State...Earned all-star status in the Central Illinois Collegiate League for the Dubois County (Ind.) Bombers this summer.
Background – Twice ranked among the nation’s top 300 high school players by Baseball America...Named as one of the top seniors in the state of Missouri in 2007...Helped the Chicago White Sox SPARQ Midwest Area Code team to the Area Code Championships with a game-winning two-run double...Member of Team Missouri for the 2006 Junior Sunbelt Classic games...Named as the starting catcher for the 2005 National Triple Crown World Series All-Star Team by Missouri Rivals.com...Lettered two years each in baseball and football at Rockhurst High School outside of Kansas City...Majoring in communications...Chose UE because of a “belief in the coaches and the baseball program.”
