2024
  • Played in 61 games with 55 starts in center field as a junior
  • Hit .282 with eight doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 45 RBIs, and 45 runs scored
  • Finished sixth on the team in home runs with seven
  • One of only five Aces to hit a triple
  • Tied for first on the team in stolen bases with 16 on 18 attempts
  • Had 13 multiple hit games including a four-hit game at New Orleans (2/25/24)
  • Had 10 games where he brought in multiple runs including a 5 RBI against Purdue Fort Wayne (3/1/24)
  • Had the fourth longest hitting streak on the team recording 10 straight games with a hit
  • Batted a perfect line at Valparaiso (5/5/24) and against UIC (5/18/24) going 3-for-3 against the Beacons and 2-for-2 against the Flames

  • Played in 61 games, with 59 starts in center field for UE as a sophomore

  • Five of his eight home runs came in MVC play
  • UE was 22-5 in the 27 games in which Rumsey scored a run as a sophomore
  • Went a perfect 7-for-7 in the stolen base department, and has been caught only once in his UE career (12-for-13 overall)
  • Had 12 multi-hit games, including three three-hit games
  • Finished a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a double and a home run against #14 Indiana State (4/30/23)
  • Had 2-for-3 games against both Southern Illinois (5/24/23) and Indiana State (5/27/23 – Game 1) in the MVC Tournament
  • Homered in both games of a doubleheader sweep at Missouri State (3/25/23)
  • Also homered in back-to-back games at Middle Tennessee State (3/12/23) and Bellarmine (3/15/23)
  • Had an outstanding summer for the Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League
  • Hit .310 with two doubles, three triples, four home runs, 21 RBI and 43 runs scored in 44 contests during the summer for the MoonDogs
  • Finished the summer on a 14-game hitting streak, in which he had eight multi-hit games 
2022
  • Started 35 games as a true freshman in center field for UE before a season-ending injury ended his rookie year
  • Broke his arm attempting a diving catch against Belmont (4/26/22)
  • Prior to the injury, hit .231 with three doubles, a triple, a home run and eight RBI
  • Opened his UE career by going 2-for-3 with two runs scored at #10 N.C. State (2/18/22)
  • Finished his freshman year with six multi-hit games – all two-hit performances
  • Also had two-hit games at Kentucky (3/2/22), at #18 Tulane (3/12/22), at Austin Peay (3/16/22), at Western Kentucky (3/22/22) and at Indiana State (4/22/22)
  • Had one multi-RBI game – 2 RBI at Austin Peay (3/16/22)
  • Had the third-longest on-base streak for UE with a 19-game stretch from 3/6 to 4/5
  • Produced a season-long six-game hitting streak from 3/9/22 at Belmont to 3/20/22 at Northwestern
  • Launched his first career home run at UE in the Purple Aces 15-5 win at #18 Tulane (3/13/22)
PREP
  • Ranked as the #7 outfielder in the state of Indiana as a senior by Perfect Game
  • Also rated as the #27 overall player in Indiana by Perfect Game
  • Participated in the IHSBCA North-South All-Star series alongside current teammates Blake Herrmann and Evan Waggoner
  • Played his prep baseball at Evansville North High School, located just 11 miles from campus
  • Hit .320 and stole 16 bases in 2019 as a sophomore on his way to earned second team all-SIAC honors
  • In 2019, he helped the Huskies to an opening-game victory over Harrison in the IHSAA sectionals

  • Has an older brother, Trevor, who played football at Division III Manchester University
  • His dad, Mark, played baseball at Wabash Valley CC
  • His second cousin – Stacy Jones – plays drums for Miley Cirus, Matchbox 20 and Olivia Rodrigo
  • Also played football and basketball growing up
  • Hobbies include fishing
  • Lists football as his second-best sport
  • Favorite food is a medium rare steak
  • Hopes to coach baseball after his playing days are done
  • Lists his hidden talent as the ability to play golf both left and right-handed
