Kim Gentry enters her seventh year as the Director of Development for men’s basketball under head coach Marty Simmons. Gentry, however, is no stranger to the University of Evansville.
Gentry served as Administrative Assistant at UE from 1989 until 2002, ten years of which were spent under then-head coach Jim Crews. While with Crews, Gentry worked alongside Simmons, who was an assistant coach at the time. When Crews left UE in 2002, Gentry also moved on, working as a high stakes proctor at the Workforce Certification Center at Ivy Tech. However, she returned to UE as Director of Development in 2008, one year after Simmons returned as head coach.
As Director of Development, Gentry assists Simmons and the basketball staff in all aspects of day-to-day functions and operations. She is primarily responsible for organizing and maintaining the “6th Man Club”, a group that consists of fans and donors that support various programs of the men’s basketball team.
A native of Boonville, Ind., Gentry received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from UE in 2001. She went on to earn her master’s in management from Oakland City in 2002.
Gentry and her husband Guy have raised four children and have seven grandchildren.
