2007-08 – Goes into his senior year ranked third in UE history in 3-point field goals (220) and fourth in both assists (399) and free throw percentage (.854)...ranks #1 among returning MVC players in scoring (1,055), 3-point field goals (220), assists (399) and FT percentage (.854)...MVC Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete for the second year in a row...led all MVC players in minutes per game at 35.5...ranked fourth in MVC in assists (4.56), fifth in free throw percentage (.841), fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.37), seventh in 3-point percentage (.418) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (+1.6)...missed three games in February with a fracture in his hand...scored 20 points or more four times, including 28 in victory over Missouri State; hit seven three-pointers and made eight assists in that game...added 24 against Norfolk State...MVC Player of the Week once... MVC/Prairie Farms Scholar-Athlete of the Week twice....36th leading scorer in UE history.
2006-07 – MVC Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team first team selection...third in MVC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.57), fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.8), fifth in assists (5.0), sixth in 3-point shooting percentage (.437)...his 87 3-pointers were the third most in school history...made a career-high eight 3-pointers in two of his last three games, at Drake Feb. 21 and vs. Drake March 1 in MVC Tournament... scored a career-high 29 at Drake and 26 in MVC Tournament loss to Drake; added 24 at Illinois State...made nine assists or more four times...played in Australia for Athletes In Action during August, 2006.
2005-06 – One of the highest impact newcomers in years to play for the Purple Aces...set the UE Division I freshman scoring record with 365 points, six more than previous record holder Parrish Casebier scored in 1990-91... the only MVC player chosen by the website CollegeInsider.com for its 25-man Freshman All-America team...member of the MVC All-Newcomer and All-Freshman Teams...chosen twice as MVC Newcomer of the Week...led the team in assists; second in scoring and minutes played...ranked third in the MVC in 3-pointers per game (2.38), fourth in assists (4.1), sixth in free throw accuracy (.843)...scored a season-high 28 against UNI.
HIGH SCHOOL – Starter at guard in both games for Indiana All-Stars in their June, 2005 sweep of Kentucky; scored a total of 17 points and led the All-Stars in assists with 7...second team Associated Press All-State as a senior...led 22-4 Lapel to the IHSAA Class A state title in March of ‘05 and won the Trester Award for mental attitude in Class A...averaged 22.5 points, 6.6 assists...salutatorian at Lapel.
PERSONAL – Jason Paul Holsinger...born July 22, 1986 in Anderson, Indiana...son of Rick and Lisa Holsinger...earned the MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award for second time, compiling a GPA of 3.5 or better for two consecutive semesters...majoring in economics...goes into 2008-09 school year with a 3.85 GPA.
