Made his UE debut with a walk as a pinch-hitter and defensive replacement in left field against Bowling Green State (3/5/23 – Game One)
Came through with his first collegiate hit with a single and a run scored as a pinch-hitter in game two of the doubleheader against Bowling Green (3/5/23)
Made his first career UE start at DH at Middle Tennessee State (3/11/23)
Posted his first career multi-hit game at Bellarmine, going 2-for-4 with his first career RBI (3/15/23)

PREP

A 2021 IHSBCA 1st-Team All-State selection at St. Laurence High School in Burbank, Illinois on Chicago’s southwest side
Earned 1st-Team All-Chicago Catholic League Blue honors as well
Helped the St. Laurence baseball team to both a state runner-up finish (2019) as a sophomore
Opened the 2019 state playoffs going 8-for-9 with seven RBI to help the Vikings to the state title game
Also led St. Laurence to a third-place finish in Illinois as a senior, while hitting over .411
Ranked as the 18th-best shortstop in Illinois by Perfect Game as a senior
Also won the Illinois Hockey State Championship in 2016

PERSONAL

Son of Beth and Mike McCormick
Has two older brothers – Joe and Matt
Joe actually coached Kevin’s baseball teams when he was 12, 13 and 14, as Joe is the freshman coach at St. Laurence High School
His grandfather played baseball at the University of Wisconsin from 1953-55
His father, Mike, played baseball at Western Illinois from 1980-82
His brother, Matt, was the Gatorade Illinois Baseball Player of the Year twice, and a 40th-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in the 2019 MLB Draft
His brother, Matt, currently plays at Xavier, after beginning his collegiate career at West Virginia
His cousin, Patrick Romeri, plays in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, and finished last year with the Peoria Chiefs (High-A)
Hobbies include listening to music and watching movies and TV shows
Also played hockey, basketball and volleyball growing up
Lists hockey as his second-best sport
Favorite food is an Italian Beef Sandwich
Lists his hidden talent as being able to catch food in his mouth
Wants to go into the business field after his baseball days are done
