Matthew is entering his first year as Graduate Assistant for the University of Evansville Men’s Basketball team.
Matthew joined the program in 2023-2024 as Head Student Manager. During his 3 years as Head Student Manager, Matthew played a key role in the program’s operations, contributing both on and off the court through drills, practices, defensive scouting preparation, and film breakdown.
Prior to arriving at UE, Matthew spent his freshman year playing baseball at Danville Area Community College, where he led his team in Strikeouts, Games Started, and Innings Pitched.
Matthew is an Evansville native and played basketball in high school at Evansville North, where he is the school’s record holder for 3 pointers made in a game (9). He is also top 5 in Evansville North’s history for 3 pointers made in a single season, and top 10 in career 3 pointers made in a career.
Matthew is the son of Scot Bunnell & Natalie Coburn. He is working towards earning his master’s degree in leadership.
