- In his final year at Mount Pleasant (TX) High School, he led the team to a 27-1 record and a state ranking as high as third place
- Averaged 13.6 points and 2.6 steals per game as a senior while earning a spot on the 5A Region 2 All-Region Team
- Posted 16 points per game in the playoffs
- Was one of 20 players across the state of Texas to earn a spot on the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A All-State team
