Biography
2007: Ran in seven of UE’s eight meets, including the State Farm MVC Championships...finished the year strong, cracking the 28-minute barrier in the 8K in each of his last two meets...turned in a season-best 8K time of 27:16.60 at the UE Invitational, placing eighth on the team...also ran eighth for UE at the MVC Championships (27:56.99)...earned a place on UE’s Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll and the MVC Honor Roll for posting a grade point average above 3.5.
2006: Competed in six of UE’s eight meets...consistently ran in UE’s top 10...came on strong at the end of the year to post a personal-best 8K time of 27:07.81 at the UE Invite...placed 28th out of 89 runners at the UE Invite...also placed 10th at the Mid-America Opener in a 6K time of 20:17.54.
2005: Consistently ran in UE’s top five...competed in seven of UE’s eight meets...best individual finish was 35th at the UE Early Bird Invite...fourth on the team at the Greater Louisville Classic (28:08--8K)...ran a season-best 8K time of 27:30 at the State Farm MVC Championships.
Background: A three-sport star at Muncie Burris...lettered four years in cross country and track, and one year in basketball...a three-time all-state selection in cross country...a four-time semi-state participant and all-conference selection...finished 37th out of 172 runners at the IHSAA state finals as a senior... a three-time all-conference selection in track...sectional champion in the 1,600-meter race in 2003...related to John Hart, the 16th signer of the Declaration of Independence...majoring in accounting.
