Biography

2008:  Earned second team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors for his work both on and off of the course...is the first UE cross country runner to earn Academic All-America honors...on the course, was named UE’s Most Improved Runner after lowering both his career-best 8K and 10K times...off of the course, maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA at UE...posted UE’s second-fastest 8K time of the year with a personal-best mark of 25:50.82 at the UE Invitational...placed fifth overall at the Tennessee Tech Invite (27:08.00-8K) and ninth overall at the Earl Jacoby Memorial (26:55.00-8K).

2007:  Ran third for UE for much of his sophomore season, competing in all eight meets...posted four Top 20 individual finishes, including a career-best fifth-place finish at the Tennessee Tech Invite to help UE to the team title...also finished sixth overall at the Earl Jacoby Memorial...cut over a minute off of his personal-best time in the 8K with a mark of 26:15.88 at the UE Invitational.

2006:  Competed in UE’s first five meets before going down with injury...ran in UE’s top seven in three meets...posted a season-best 8K time of 27:40.7 at the Greater Louisville Classic...finished 23rd out of 108 runners at the UAH/Fleet Feet Sports Cross Country Invite (27:53.60-8K)...placed ninth overall at the Mid-America Opener in a 6K time of 19:55.86.

Background:
  Three-time Evansville Central Runner of the Year...lettered four years in track, three years in cross country and swimming, and one year in soccer for the Bears...won the individual title at the 2005 Evansville city meet...also posted Top 10 finishes at the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference meet (third), the 2005 sectional (seventh) and the 2005 regional championships (10th)...helped Central to its first sectional and regional championships since 1980 as a senior...earned 11 academic all-city honors in four different sports...majoring in exercise science at UE.

Why UE?:  The students and staff are so personal and friendly, I can pursue a master’s degree in physical therapy, and I can continue competing in cross country at the Division I level.
