• Belted three home runs while picking up 15 walks
• Played in 43 games while making 37 starts
• Went 2-3 with a run, RBI and home run in first game of the season versus Stephen F. Austin
• Had a 2-for-2 game with two runs, two RBI and a walk against Morehead State
• Season-high of three RBI came against Northern Iowa and Loyola

2021

• Saw action in 21 games overall while making the start on 15 occasions at catcher and designated player
• Posted three home runs and 10 RBI on the season
• Recorded a hit in her first at-bat of the season against Loyola
• First RBI of the season helped UE to 9-5 win over SIU Edwardsville
• Had a career game in second contest at Drake, launching two home runs – went 2-3 with her two homers and two runs scored
• Added a 2-for-4 game with a double in the series finale versus the Bulldogs
• Third home run of the season came in 11-1 win over Bradley

 
2020: Named MVC Newcomer of the Week on 3/9/20 after batting .385 at the Red & Black Challenge in Louisville…went 2-4 with a home run and five RBI to lift UE to a 9-1 win over Illinois…finished second on the team batting .314 while ranking third on the team with three home runs and 17 RBI…after starting the season 1-for-14 from the plate, she finished by recording 21 hits in 56 at-bats (.375)…made the start in 22 games at either catcher or designated player…belted her first home run against Western Illinois…first multi hit game came in win over Green Bay, going 2-4 with a double and two RBI along with her second homer of the season…had a double and three RBI at South Alabama…added three more RBI knocks against North Alabama…third home run came in win over Illinois, went 2-4 with season mark of five RBI…added a 2-for-2 game in home contest against Purdue Fort Wayne.

Prior to UE: Was a 4-year letterwinner in softball at Martin Luther King High School...earned All-Conference honors as a senior and was a Peak Player as a junior...garnered Academic Honors in all four of her varsity seasons...was named the Team Captain as a senior...had a stellar career at the plate, batting .750 as a senior, .650 as a junior and .500 in her freshman and sophomore seasons...at age 16, was ranked 7th in the nation in home runs at the Colorado Homerun Derby.

Personal: Daughter of Leon and Shelly Barela...has a sister Erika...mother pitched in college at Cal State San Bernardino...is majoring in Biology at UE and has aspirations of being a Physican Assistant.
