The University of Evansville softball program continues to grow stronger under the direction of assistant coach Ashley Monceaux, who enters her second season as a member of the UE coaching staff.

Prior to coming to UE, Monceaux served as coordinator and coach for the Mustangs Softball Organization in Kansas from 2008-2009.

A native of Tucson, Ariz., Monceaux was a standout athlete during her collegiate careers at Baylor University and Pima Community College. At Pima, Monceaux was a two-time NJCAA Division I All-America selection. Before transferring to Baylor, Monceaux led the Aztecs to the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference title and an NJCAA national championship, where she earned the title of 2004 NJCAA Player of the Year.

While at Baylor, Monceaux led the Bears to a 2007 World Series appearance, where she was named to the all-tournament team as a first baseman. An All-American selection in 2006 and 2007, Monceaux was a first team All-Big 12 Conference honoree and named Player of the Week for the Conference for three consecutive weeks. Monceaux holds the Baylor career record for home runs per game, RBI per game, slugging percentage and on base percentage.

Upon graduating from Baylor, Monceaux was one of 36 players invited to attend the 2007 Olympic camp. She was then drafted into the National Pro Fastpitch league and the Professional Fastpitch Extreme (PFX) Tour. Monceaux is still active in the game, playing first base and left field for the PFX Tour, which includes 30 top caliber professional players.

Monceaux is also involved in her church community as well as serving as the faculty advisor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at UE.
