Jeanay Riley

Jeanay Riley is in her first season as an assistant for the University of Evansville softball program.  

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Riley graduated from Eastern Kentucky where she spent four seasons playing for the Colonels softball program.  Riley helped her team win a pair of conference championships while making an appearance in an NCAA Regional.  Over the course of her career, Riley helped EKU win a total of 118 games.

Riley graduated from EKU in 2024 with a Bachelor's in Psychology, concentrating on child and family psychology, while holding a 3.82 GPA in the classroom. She was a two-time Academic All-ASUN honoree and was the first player in program history to record a conference academic superlative award.

Over the course of her career with the Colonels, Riley appeared in 167 games with a .311 batting average, 155 hits, 40 doubles, 15 home runs, 89 RBI, and scored 115 runs. In the field, Riley had a .960 percentage with 270 putouts, she even appeared in four games as a relief pitcher, ending with a perfect 1-0 record with five strikeouts.

In 2024, Riley started in all 52 of EKU's games and led the ASUN Conference in batting average (.406), hits (71), doubles (18), triples (5), and total bases (118) with an addition of 42 RBI and 6 home runs. She was top 25 in the country in doubles and doubles per game. Riley helped lead EKU to one of its best seasons in program history, ending the campaign in the ASUN Tournament semifinals with a 42-10 overall record, No. 59 final NCAA NET softball rank, and capturing the 2024 ASUN Regular Season Championship.

She had one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history where she was named the 2024 ASUN Player of the Year, ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, First Team All-Conference, NFCA D1 All-Region, ASUN Spring Winner's for Life Award, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District, and has been named a finalist from the Atlantic Sun Conference for the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.

Riley is currently completing her Master’s degree at UE in Master of Science in Leadership.
