With her first year of collegiate coaching under her belt, Jenna Roberts returns for her second season as the graduate assistant coach for the University of Evansville softball program.
Roberts helped lead the 2010 squad to 10 Missouri Valley Conference victories, six more than the previous season. Primarily responsible for working with the outfielders, Roberts also assists in recruiting and travel arrangements. Under Roberts’ direction, the UE outfielders posted a .952 fielding percentage last season.
Roberts joined the Purple Aces staff in the summer of 2009 after completing her collegiate career at Northern Illinois University, where she was named team captain her senior year. A centerfielder for the Huskies, Roberts holds the record for single season stolen bases and ranks fifth in career stolen bases.
Prior to UE, Roberts worked as a counselor at various softball camps and clinics throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. She also served as an intern in the strength and conditioning field, where she learned correct speed work and lifting techniques. Roberts uses her training and experience to help better teach the Purple Aces.
Originally from Verona, Wis., Roberts received her bachelor’s in psychology and sociology from NIU in 2009.
