Peg Boardman

Peg Boardman embarks on her 16th season as assistant coach at the University of Evansville this season. Through the years, she has helped build a strong and successful softball program.

Boardman spends countless hours on and off the field. On the field, she serves as the first base coach and works with the outfielders. Off the field, Boardman assists with coordinating team travel, organizing scouting and recruitment, overseeing the team’s strength and conditioning program, and monitoring the team’s academic progress. With her supervision, UE softball has consistently produced one of the nation’s best grade point averages, finishing in the top-10 this past season.

“Peg is invaluable to our program,” says Lewis. “She provides leadership, strong direction, and a work ethic that is second to none. She is an incredible multi-tasker with exceptional organizational skills. However, her knowledge of the game supercedes everything else. She has always put the program in a position to be successful, because she understands that even at the Division I level you have to be a student and teacher of the game. Her loyalty and dedication has allowed us to build longevity and consistency for University of Evansville softball.”

Boardman was an assistant coach for two years at her high school alma mater, Waukesha North High School in Waukesha, Wisconson before coming to Evansville.

An outstanding player in her own right, Boardman played for four years at Indiana State University. She teamed up with Aces’ head coach Gwen Lewis for one campaign at ISU and earned team captain honors in 1988. Boardman graduated from Indiana State in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and received her master’s degree in public service administration from UE in 2007.
