Biography
PREP
- Lettered two years in volleyball, two years in cross country and four years in track & field at South Ripley High School
- Named the cross country team’s Most Valuable Runner as a senior
- Won the Ohio River Valley Conference’s Mental Attitude Award in cross country in 2022
- Earned all-conference, all-county and all-sectional honors as a senior
- Also qualified for Semi-State as a senior in cross country
- Earned South Ripley’s senior academic award for cross country in 2022
- On the track, was named the Most Valuable Runner as a senior
- An all-conference and regional qualifier in the 1,600-Meters as a senior
- A Hoosier State relay qualifier in the 3,200-Meters as well
- Owns personal-best marks of 5:40.75 in the 1,600-Meters and 12:56.66 in the 3,200-Meters
- Also advanced to sectionals in the long jump as a junior
- Helped the track team to Ohio River Valley Conference championships in both 2021 and 2022
PERSONAL
- Daughter of Ben and Karen Bastin
- Has a younger sister, Ava
- Enjoys running, reading, and spending time with friends
- Plans to major in Exercise Science at UE, with a goal of becoming an orthopedic physician assistant
- Chose UE because “I fell in love with the small campus feeling because it feels like home. I am interested in the school’s physician assistant program. I also love the color purple.”
