Biography
2017: Notched times in six races as a junior…was the Aces top finisher in five of those races…her best 5K race was at Austin Peay as she ran an 18:52.8 to finish in 6th place…took 7th at the UE Invitational…had her second-best time of the season at the MVC Championships with a 19:14.76…ran a 23:39 in the 6K NCAA Regionals.
2016: Followed up a strong freshman campaign with a sophomore season that was highlighted by a victory at the Austin Peay Invitational…in that race, she ran a 5K PR of 18:10…had four races under 19 minutes with another strong time of 18:25.5 coming at the UE Invitational as she took 4th place…in a race that featured 406 runners, she came home in 18th at the Greater Louisville Classic (18:39.33).
2015: Had a stellar freshman season for the Purple Aces and was the top finisher for UE in each event…took top honors at the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival, finishing the 5K race in a time of 19:05.00…her PR of 18:33.87 came in the MVC Championship as she finished 45th out of 79 runners…had a stellar race at the Greater Louisville Classic, finishing 8th out of 369 with a 19:00.78…lowered her PR in each of the final four races of the season.
Prior to UE: Earned three letters in cross country and four in track at Heritage Hills High School...also swam for two years...her top 5K time in high school was an 18:23 with her fastest mile finishing at 5:07 and two mile coming in at 11:30...won the conference as a freshman, sophomore and senior...was a Coaches Choice All-State Award winner as a freshman, took second at regionals, 5th at semi state and 26th at state...as a sophomore, she was an All-State performer, taking 18th in the state meet...won conference, sectionals and regionals that year and took 4th at semi state...as a senior, was the sectional champ and took second at regionals while qualifying for state.
Personal: Daughter of Michael and Kathleen Crews...has a brother Kenton...comes from an athletic background as her mom ran track and cross country at Western Kentucky before moving to Hawaii where she was a cheerleader for the University of Hawaii while her dad played football at Ball State.
