Biography

2008 – One of four UE players on the All-Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Team, helping the Aces win their first MVC tourney title since 2001...co-captain along with Julie Winkler...defensive midfielder who will return as a fifth-year senior in 2009....started in all but the Kentucky match...made an assist on Mia Tofano's first goal in UE's 2-1 win over Southern Illinois-Edwardsville...helped UE's defense shut out six teams and hold the opposition to 24 goals.

2007 – Overcame knee injuries to play in all 18 matches as a junior...good distributor of the ball...primarily a defensive midfielder, but also showed the ability to start the attack.

2006 – Redshirted because of injuries to both knees...returned to action during the spring of 2007, and worked hard to rehabiliate in getting ready for the 2007 fall season.

2005 – Quick central midfielder who started in the first six matches of the season before a knee injury sidelined her in mid-September...became one of the first players off the bench when she returned to the lineup in late September...very good at seeing the field and distributing the ball...took many of the Aces' corner kicks...registered her first career assist in a 2-0 victory over Marshall September 2.

High School/Club – Led McKinney to the Texas 4A state championship and a 21-2-4 record in 2005...three-time all-district selection...played for the D’Feeters Soccer Club, winning Puma Cup championship in 2002-03, and finishing second in 2003 Orange Classic...club team ranked among nation’s top 20...member of the NTSSA Olympic Development Program...National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars member...High School coach–Alex Pantarotto...Club coach–David Pfeil.

Personal – Kellee L. Widener...born December 21, 1986 in South Korea...daughter of Terry and Leslie Widener...has one older sister and one younger brother...outstanding student who earned 2007-08 MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award...majoring in marketing.
