Biography
2016-17: Yamada earned a spot on the league’s All-Select Team at the MVC awards. She finished her senior year with an overall singles record of 19-21…in tournament play during the fall semester, she finished with a record of 5-6…in dual matches during the spring season, Yamada finished with a record of 14-15…in MVC she went 4-3 on the season…throughout the season she saw action at flights one and two singles…had an overall record of 14-14 playing at a flight No.1 in the spring season. Yamada’s doubles record for the year was 16-23…saw doubles actions with teammates Theodora Soldatou, Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga, Diana Tkachenko, and Leah Helpingstine…her doubles record was 2-7 during fall tournament play, 14-16 in spring matches, and 4-3 in MVC play…saw action in flights one, two and three in doubles play.
Prior to UE: Was undefeated in league play in 2015 and was crown champion at #1 singles...was the #1 seed from Northern California in the California State Community College Championships where she eventually finished as the runner-up...achieved a career-high ranking of 552 in the world by the ITF.
Personal: Daughter of Tomonori and Takako Yamada, has a brother and sister...is majoring in International Studies.
