University of Evansville Athletics Director Mark Spencer has announced the hiring of Jayson Wiseman as the Head Women’s Tennis Coach for the Purple Aces in 2015.

“We are very excited to have somebody with Jayson’s background in collegiate athletics as well as the professional tennis teaching industry,” Spencer said.  “We think his work ethic, personality and philosophy will be a perfect mesh with that of the department and look forward to many years of growing success from the women’s tennis program under his guidance.”

Wiseman makes his way to Evansville from Wright State University where he was an assistant coach for the Raiders since January.  He worked with both the men’s and women’s squads with WSU and worked with team travel and recruiting while providing expertise during practice.

“I am extremely grateful to Mark Spencer for allowing me this opportunity and trusting me to lead the Purple Aces women's tennis program going forward,” Wiseman said.  “I thank my family and friends, especially my wife and children for their love and support me along my journey to UE.”

“Mark’s vision for the tennis program, and the whole UE Athletics program makes me enormously excited about the potential of this opportunity,” Wiseman continued.  “I can’t wait to get started working with the team and continuing their improvement and growth as people, students and athletes.”

From 2005 through 2015, he was the sole proprietor and head professional of Jayson Wiseman Tennis.  Wiseman provided professional instruction and service to hundreds of children and adults in the local community while developing new clients and programs on a continual basis.  In that time, he also worked at Stone Oak, Shadow Valley and Toledo Tennis Clubs, serving as an assistant head tennis professional.

Between 2004 and 2007, Wiseman worked at Bowling Green State University as a volunteer assistant coach.  He designed and implemented a comprehensive conditioning program for the team and also operated their annual invitational tournament.  His work with the Falcons also included recruiting, coaching in matches and practice and various NCAA compliance activities.

Wiseman attend Bowling Green and earned a pair of degrees from the institution.  He earned a Master’s in Sport Administration in 2011 and an M.C.J.A. in Criminal Justice a year later.  Wiseman is a graduate of Ferris State University where he received a B.S. in Marketing and Professional Tennis Management in May of 2002.
