Jeremy Marshall returned to collegiate tennis in 2011 as volunteer assistant coach for the University of Evansville tennis team. He assists head coach Nick Mueller in a part-time capacity while maintaining his full-time position as a high ability teacher at Hebron Elementary School in Evansville.
Marshall played tennis at Lakeland Junior College in Mattoon, Ill., and then transferred to Oakland City University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in education in 2000. He served as boys’ and girls’ head tennis coach at Pike Central High School from 1998-2001, and was boys’ head coach at Wood Memorial High School from 2001-2003. Marshall then undertook the job of forming a varsity tennis program at Oakland City University in 2003. He served as men’s and women’s head coach at Oakland City, and led the Mighty Oaks’ men to a top five ranking in the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association in 2008, his final year at Oakland City.
Marshall continues to compete at high level USTA tournaments, and most recently earned a 4.5 rating from the USTA. Marshall completed work on his master’s degree from the University of Illinois Springfield and Oakland City University in 2009. He and his wife, Erin, have a daughter, Maddux, 5, and are expecting their second child in July.
