Biography

2014-15:  Moreno finished her junior singles campaign with an overall record of 14-14...during fall tournament play she finished with a record of 6-4 in singles and an impressive 9-1 doubles record...Throughout her spring dual matches, Moreno finished with a singles record of 8-10 and a doubles record of 10-10...In conference play, Moreno put up a singles record of 0-5 and a doubles record of 4-3...Moreno saw singles action at flights two, three, and four and doubles action at flights two and three.

2013-14: Was stellar in doubles in her second season with the Aces...went 18-8 over the course of the season...combined with Marketa Trousilova in the spring to go 14-1 while winning the final eight matches...duo finished with a 5-1 MVC mark with only defeat being an 8-7 loss at Southern Illinois in the conference opener...had a solid tournament campaign in singles as she went 5-3...won two matches at the SIUE Fall Invitational...finished with a 2-1 mark at the MVC Individual Championship.  Final Records: Tournament Singles - 5-3, Tournament Doubles - 3-2, Dual Singles - 5-16, Dual Doubles - 15-6.

2012-13: Began her freshman season in January, 2013...began dual singles with a 1-4 mark before finishing 9-6 down the stretch...won four in a row in non-conference play with wins over Butler, Murray State, SIUE and UT Martin...posted a 4-3 record in MVC singles including a close win over Chelsea Moore of UNI (7-5, 7-6) and a dominating win over Anna Kirshenbaum of Creighton (6-0, 6-1)...won six dual doubles efforts, including MVC wins over Bradley (with Kelsey Costales) and against Creighton (partnered with Gaby Fifer)...Final records: Dual Singles - 10-10, Dual Doubles - 6-14.

High School: Won four national championships in singles and doubles in Mexico in 2010...played in the Central America Games where she won a silver medal that same year...she was ranked as high as third in Mexico.

Personal: Marina Moreno...born in Puebla, Mexico...daughter of Fidel Moreno and Marina Chincoya...has an older brother ...majoring is undecided.

Why UE? "Because the university offers a lot of majors and the tennis team plays at a high level; I also like the environment."
