Evelia Yajaira Cadet

Evelia Yajaira Cadet joined the Aces in 2007 as the newest member of the volleyball coaching staff.

Born in Montecristi, Dominican Republic, Cadet played outside and rightside hitter at the University of South Carolina from 2001-2002 before finishing out her career at California Baptist University, an NAIA instituition in Riverside, Calif.  While at CBU, Cadet helped lead the Lancers to back-to-back national championships in 2004 and 2005 while also serving as team captain.   

In 2004, Cadet was named to the AVCA All-America first team and also received Golden State Athletic Conference all-conference and academic all-conference honors.  Following her senior campaign, Cadet became a member of the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame in Riverside, Calif. and currently ranks third all-time at CBU in single-season records with 616 kills, fourth with 4.57 kills per game and fifth with 536 digs.

Since the end of her playing career, Cadet has gained coaching experience serving as a coach of the Tamboril Volleyball Club in Santiago, Dominican Republic in 2006 followed by a stint for the Young Ladies Volleyball Association in Riverside, Calif. prior to her arrival at Evansville.

Cadet graduated from California Baptist in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and christian studies.  She has made the move to Evansville with her husband and son, Isaac.
