University of Evansville Athletics

Maria Fernanda Escoto serves as UE's Second Assistant Coach.  One of the top players in the history of the Big 12 Conference, Escoto finished her career with 2,204 digs, second in conference history and No. 1 in the history of the University of Oklahoma program.
 
A 2013 graduate from OU, she is one of two players in program history to reach the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years with the school.  Escoto was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in 2010 and 2012 while being named to the 2009 All-Big 12 Freshman Team.  During her career at OU, she earned three Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week awards.
 
Following her collegiate career, the Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico product played in the Superior League in 2013, earning Pro League Rookie of the Year honors.
