Viera Rajcan came back to the University of Evansville in 2015, joining the staff as the second assistant coach. Rajcan played for the Purple Aces from 2007 through 2010 while majoring in Physical Education with minors in Health Education and Coaching Endorsement. Following her playing career at UE, she spent a season playing in Slovakia.
"We are excited to welcome back an Alumni to our staff. Her background as a teacher, loyalty to our program throughout all these years, and growth-mindset, were elements that caught my attention about recruiting Viera for this position," Concepcion said.
"She has grown tremendously in and off the court, and understands what it takes to be successful here at UE. Her playing and coaching experience in one of the most successful club programs in the country (Sports Performance) will help us continue to grow our recruiting base in the Midwest."
She has continued to work in the sport since her graduation in May of 2011, serving as the Site Manager and Coach at Sports Performance Volleyball Club. She has been teaching elite athletes the fundamentals of the sport while scoring for championships at that level. Rajcan was also a student teacher at Tecumseh High School in Lynnville, Ind. and was an assistant volleyball coach at Waubonsie Valley High School.
