• Served as Evansville’s primary Saturday starter
• Started in each of the Aces’ 14 weekend series
• Led the team with 72 innings pitched, good for sixth in the MVC
• Finished the year tops on the staff and 10^th in the Valley with 62 strikeouts
• Posted a 3-6 record with a 7.25 ERA
• Tossed a complete game shutout in a run-rule win over USI, punching out a career-high nine in seven innings (2/23)
• Limited Missouri to two runs across six innings of work while striking out five to earn the win (3/2)
• Earned his first career MVC Pitcher of the Week award with seven shutout innings to get the win in the rubber match at Central Arkansas, striking out six while allowing just three singles (3/9)
• Turned in a quality start at UIC, allowing three runs in six innings while punching out five (4/5)
• Matched a career-high with seven innings of work against Indiana State, allowing four runs (4/18)
• Worked six innings of two-run ball against Belmont (5/3)

2024

• Started in all but two games during the 2024 season with 17 appearances
• Had a 5-3 record with a 7.98 ERA with 15 starts 
• Pitched 58.2 innings, allowing 77 hits, 56 runs, 52 earned runs, 28 walks, and striking out 40 batters
• Aces second freshman starter in 2024, mostly throwing in midweek appearances
• Faced three Top 25 teams as a freshman averaging 5.6 hits across those three games
• Pitched a career-high six innings at SEMO on April 24th
• Had a career-high game in strikeouts against SIUE as he took down six batters at the plate (3/26/24)
• Had a career-low zero walks in three appearances, vs. SEMO (3/13/24), vs. SIUE (3/26/24), and at East Carolina (6/2/24)
• Allowed a career-low three hits twice against Southern Indiana (5/7/24) and UIC (5/18/24) in a pitching appearance of three innings or more. 

PREP

• Considered one of the top left-handed pitchers in the state of Indiana from Martinsville High School
• Ranked as the fourth-best left-handed pitcher and 30th-best player overall in Indiana by Perfect Game
• Ranked among Perfect Game’s top 500 players nationally – any position
• Named to the Indy Star’s Preseason Baseball Super Team First Team
• Also named to Prep Baseball Indiana’s Preseason First Team All-State squad for Class 4A
• Earned honorable mention All-State honors as a junior as a two-way player, striking out 94 of the 210 batters he faced on the mound, while also hitting .312 with seven home runs offensively
• Also played on the Indiana Bulls travel team with fellow UE freshmen Charlie Longmeier and Chance Bentley

PERSONAL

• Son of Kelly and Tom Reed
• His father, Tom, is an arborist, which are professionals who care for trees and other woody plants
• His mother, Kelly, is a Senior Designer at IU
• Has an older brother, Justin, who plays baseball at Division III Anderson University in Indiana
• Justin Reed was a fourth-team ABCA All-American at the Division III level last year, and is a three-time ABCA All-Region Selection.  He owns Anderson’s career record with 58 doubles as a four-year starter at shortstop, and he is entering his COVID graduate season at Anderson this spring.
• Also played football growing up
• His favorite food is Taco Bell’s Chicken Quesadilla
• Lists corn hole as his second-best sport
• Lists his hidden talent as the ability to throw a frisbee with both arms
• He says that “If you have hunting property or live on a lake, we should be friends”
• Hobbies include hunting and fishing
