Biography
2010: Played in 27 matches with 17 starts…led the team with 20 total service aces and ranked 15th in the MVC with .22 aces per set…tied her career-high twice with three service aces against Western Illinois (9/5) and Loyola (9/11)…posted eight kills, two aces, five digs and a block in the season opener against IUPUI (8/27)…recorded a season-high 13 digs against Wichita State (11/12).
2009: Saw action in 21 matches…posted a career-high 12 kills, four digs, three blocks and two service aces to open the season at Memphis (8/28)…tied her career high in kills with 12 and four blocks versus SEMO (8/29)…recorded four blocks at SIUE (9/23) and at Missouri State (10/10)…put down seven kills in team’s first win over Creighton (10/16) since Mike Swan took over as coach.
2008: Played in 24 matches and 58 games…played in 18-straight matches to end the season…posted 30 kills, 43 digs and 10 assists with five aces…was credited with a solo block in the Aces’ 3-0 sweep of Indiana State (9/20)…posted 14 digs at Northern Iowa (10/3)…had a season-high seven kills and six digs in the final match of the regular season at Illinois State.
2007: Appeared in 20 matches and 51 games as a freshman...finished fifth on the team in attack percentage...recorded 62 kills and 97 kills...hit her personal-best .417 against Drake (10/6)...had nine blocks in a 3-2 win at Drake (11/2)...tallied 11 digs against Southern Illinois (10/18).
At Naperville North: Four-year letterwinner at Naperville North High School...second team all-conference selection as a middle hitter...led the Huskies to a sectional championship.
Personal: Viera Rajcan...born April 26, 1989 in Slovakia...daughter of Marian and Viera Rajcan...has an older sister, Vanda, and younger brother, Martin...majoring in Physical Education and Biology.
Why UE?: "I like UE because it is a very nice small school. I really like that there are smaller classes. I like the study abroad program in England as well. The volleyball team and coaches are great!"
