A key cog in one of the most successful stretches in UE Baseball history, Brendan Hord enters his second season on the Purple Aces coaching staff in 2026.
Hord spent the 2025 season as the program’s Graduate Assistant, earning a Master’s of Science in Leadership, before stepping into his role as an Assistant Coach for the 2026 season. Hord’s responsibilities include overseeing catchers and assisting with hitting and recruiting. Prior to joining the coaching staff at UE, Hord spent the summer of 2024 as an Assistant Coach for the Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League.
Hord was a three-year starter at catcher for the Purple Aces from 2022-24, helping the Aces win 108 games in three seasons, culminating in the program’s first MVC Tournament title since 2006 and first-ever NCAA Regional championship in 2024. A steady presence behind the plate, he played in 163 games with 156 starts, including a career-high 59 starts in the storybook 2024 campaign. Over the course of his career, Hord tallied 46 doubles and 18 home runs, driving in 103 runs. Hord was an MVC All-Tournament Team selection in 2024, smashing three home runs with nine RBI to help UE to the title.
Prior to his time with the Purple Aces, Hord spent three seasons at the University of Kentucky. A native of Lexington, Ky., Hord graduated from UE in 2023, earning his Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering.
