No stranger to the University of Evansville, Donovan Schultz joins the UE Athletics Media Relations staff in July of 2025.
Schultz returns to UE after spending the 2024-25 academic year as a Graduate Assistant in the Athletics Media Relations Department at Mercer University. While at Mercer, he was responsible the day-to-day athletic communications responsibilities for the men’s soccer, men’s golf and baseball teams, while also serving as the secondary media contact for Mercer’s men’s basketball program.
A graduate of the University of Evansville, Schultz was a four-year member of the Aces baseball program from 2021-2024. An eight-term member of the Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll and two-time first team academic all-conference honoree, Schultz picked up the MVC’s Elite 17 Award in both 2023 and 2024, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the MVC's 17 championships. An integral part of the Evansville pitching staff over the course of his career, Schultz made 57 appearances, including 50 starts, for the Aces and struck out 206 batters in 248.1 career innings pitched. As a senior in 2024, Schultz logged a career-high 90.2 innings and posted a 6-2 record across 17 starts, helping the Aces capture their first MVC Tournament championship since 2006 and advance to NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in program history.
The native of Kimberly, Wis. earned his Bachelor's in Sports Communication from UE in December of 2023, maintaining a 3.96 cumulative grade point average.
