Mike Luttrull's productive trip to his hometown on Sunday has earned him the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award.
The freshman from Indianapolis scored two goals in the Aces' 3-2 overtime victory at Butler University. His first goal brought Evansville to within one at 2-1 early in the second half, and he headed in the game-winner in the second overtime to give Evansville the exciting 3-2 triumph. Luttrull's heroics were even more impressive considering that it was his first match after missing three straight because of a knee injury.
In addition, the Aces have climbed back into this week's NSCAA/adidas Midwest Region rankings at number 10 after defeating UMKC 1-0 and Butler 3-2. Senior forward Cory Elenio is ranked 30th in the nation in assists this season with five.
Sunday's win was the second in a row on an opponent's home field for 6-4-0 UE, a first for the Aces since 2002.
