Rain Sends Golfers Home Early

Rain wiped out the scheduled third and final round of the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational Tuesday at Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan, Kansas.

Evansville headed home with a 10th place finish following two rounds of 318 to begin the event.  Crissy Higgins finished 15th in the field of 75 golfers with rounds of 75 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 151.  Vandi Gooch also broke 80 in both rounds, shooting 78 and 79 in Monday's two rounds.  Katherine Shoener finished strong, shooting 79.  Tourney medalist was Julia Potter of runnerup Missouri.  She shot 70 and 73 for 1-under-par 143.

Coach Jim Hamilton's squad plays again Oct. 22 at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate.
