Two weeks and over 2,000 miles later, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team will wrap up its current four-game road trip on Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Aces will travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to battle 2007 Postseason WNIT participant East Tennessee State in non-conference action.  Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. central time and the game can be heard live on-line by clicking here.

Evansville will bring a 2-2 overall record into Saturday’s contest.  The Purple Aces are coming off of a 78-67 victory at Morehead State on Monday in which senior guard Courtney Felke set a new single-game school record with eight three-point field goals en route to a career-high 28 points.  Felke currently leads a pack of four Purple Aces who average in double-figures with an average of 15.3 points per game, and she leads the Missouri Valley Conference with 18 three-point field goals made so far this season.

East Tennessee State returns four starters from a team which went 20-12 last season and advanced on to the Postseason WNIT.  The Lady Buccaneers have gotten off to a 1-3 start this season after playing in the Preseason WNIT and falling in heartbreaking fashion, 70-69, to in-state rival Chattanooga on Tuesday.  ETSU?features four double-figure scorers as well, led by reigning Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year Siarre Evans.  Evans, a 5’11 combo guard, will enter Saturday’s game averaging a double-double with 16.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game after notching three double-doubles in ETSU’s first four games.

Saturday’s game will mark the first-ever meeting between Evansville and East Tennessee State in the sport of basketball.  It will also mark just UE’s second-ever game against teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference, as the Purple Aces defeated A-Sun member Lipscomb, 76-53, last year at Roberts Stadium.  Saturday’s game will also conclude a four-game road trip which has taken UE to #17 Michigan State, Western Kentucky, and Morehead State so far.  By the end of the trip, the Purple Aces will have logged over 2,400 miles over the last 13 days.
